The first cherries of the year arrived these days. Then I prepared a tried-and-true dessert with that fruit, which I usually make often. The quick cherry cake is a simple recipe that always succeeds even if you are not experienced in the kitchen.
In addition to cherries, you can also use other seasonal fruits.
Despite its simplicity, this quick cherry cake looks a little different from other desserts. Unlike some other similar cakes, it also uses ground almonds. They are the ingredient that makes this recipe so good because they go perfectly with sour cherries.

The ground almonds gave a special texture and taste, so it’s really a pleasure to eat this kind of cake, regardless of the fact that it is made so quickly. But if by any chance you are not a fan of almonds, no problem either.

Cherry Cake
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 100 grams of sugar
- 150 grams of plain flour
- 1 baking powder
- 100 grams of ground almonds
- 100 ml of yogurt
- 100 ml of oil
- 300 grams of cherries
- breadcrumbs for sprinkling the mold
- butter for greasing the mold
- To decorate:
- powdered sugar
- almond leaves
Instructions
Remove the pits from the washed cherries and set them aside.
Mix flour, ground almonds and baking powder in a bowl and mix briefly.
And put that container aside.
Break whole eggs into a mixing bowl.
Add sugar to the eggs and beat with a mixer into a foamy pale yellow mixture.
Pour the oil into the mixture and mix briefly.
Add yogurt and mix it briefly with a mixer.
Add flour mixed with almonds and baking powder into the yellow mixture in two batches.
Mix the mixture after each addition.
Grease a mold with a diameter of 25 centimeters with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
Pour the biscuit mixture into the mold and tap the base mold a few times to flatten the mixture.
Finally, arrange the cherries on top.
The cake is baked in an oven heated to 170 degrees Celsius for 35 minutes.
Before cutting and serving, cool the baked cake a little, sprinkle with powdered sugar and decorate with almond leaves.
