These caramel cookies have a caramel flavor thanks to brown sugar, but that’s not all.
You have to bite into both the cake and the caramel-infused frosting if you want to experience the buttery taste of caramelized sugar. Caramel Cookies with Filling are so sweet and delicious!
They are made of brown sugar, filled with caramel sauce and topped with a caramel and butter glaze.
If you love caramel as I do, you’ll love this recipe. Although it is not among the quick recipes, and especially not among the simple recipes, it is really worth it.
I’ve made liquid caramel before, but I didn’t want it to soak into the cookies or be too runny, so I made a thicker caramel with less whipped cream.
When making the glaze, make sure that the caramel and other ingredients are at the same temperature so that the glaze does not curdle. Salted caramel lovers will lick their fingers after these cookies.
