Caprese salad il Insalata Caprese is a simple Italian salad, consisting of tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and basil. In restaurants, it is served by placing slices of tomato and cheese alternately on a plate or tray with the addition of fresh basil leaves, then salt and drizzling with olive oil. You can also add balsamic vinegar, mostly light, but it is not mandatory.
It is believed that this colorful appetizer originates from the famous island of Capri, and it is believed that the Caprese salad was inspired by the colors of the Italian flag (green, white, and red).
NOTE: I also offer a variation with mini mozzarella and cherry tomatoes (even more types), so choose the one you like better. And of course, you can do both.
Pleasant!
