Pasta and Pizza are two dishes that you can never go wrong with, and when combined into one, the results are fantastic.

Baked Pasta a la Pizza

I love Italian cuisine, and one of the reasons is pasta. It is versatile and its taste changes depending on the sauce you use, which means that the combinations are endless.
This recipe turns ingredients typical for pizza filling (ham, cheese, sausage, oregano, pepper) into a sauce for the popular macaroni, which I additionally baked in the oven.

You can add ingredients to the sauce as you wish and make it more Mediterranean (olives, prosciutto) or Slavonian (spicy sausage, smoked cheese).

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 30 minutes Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 250 g of pasta
  • 50 g of tomato concentrate
  • 40 butter
  • 30 all-purpose flour
  • 200 ml of milk
  • 100 g of ham
  • 50 g of sausage of your choice
  • 100 mozzarella
  • 50 g of pizza cheese
  • salt, oregano, and pepper to taste

Instructions

1

Boil the pasta of your choice, preferably some macaroni, in a pot of salted water.

2

Melt the butter in a pan or dish that can be put in the oven, then add the flour and make a paste.

3

Fry the sauce for about 30 seconds before adding the tomato concentrate.

4

Mix everything, then pour over the splash of milk, stirring constantly.

5

At this point, add spices as desired. I would especially emphasize the addition of oregano, which will help the most in achieving that recognizable pizza taste and smell.

6

When the sauce boils, reduce the heat and let it boil on low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

7

Remove the thickened sauce from the heat.

8

Add thinly sliced ham and half of the mozzarella cheese cut into strips.

9

Mix all the ingredients well.

10

Sprinkle a little grated semi-hard pizza cheese over everything, arrange the remaining mozzarella and finally add the sliced permanent sausage.

11

You can freely use thin barbecue sausages, just slice them thinly so that they can be thermally processed in the oven.

12

Sprinkle everything with oregano and put in the oven at 180 degrees for about 10 minutes, enough for the cheese to melt and the sausage or salami to brown.
