Orange ice cream has never been so quick and easy to make! Put all the ingredients in a blender, then freeze! Seriously, who wouldn’t love this orange ice cream recipe? Sorry, but this recipe is not like that and we do not use a blender.
If like me, you like the combination of orange and vanilla flavors, you will definitely like this ice cream. Without added colors and aromas, classic preparation and ingredients available to everyone, it belongs to the ranks of real homemade ice treats.
You can also add grated orange peel and lemon juice to taste.
Orange Ice Cream
Ingredients
- 3-4 oranges
- 5 egg yolks
- 400 ml of milk
- 100 ml of sweet cream
- 8 spoons of sugar
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
Squeeze the oranges, then measure 200 ml of juice and mix it with milk, sweet cream, a pinch of salt and two tablespoons of sugar
Heat the liquid until it boils, then leave it to cool (about half an hour)
Beat the egg yolks with the remaining sugar, then add the cooled mixture in a medium stream and mix at the lowest speed
Pour the mixture into a suitable saucepan and heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens
Note: Make sure it doesn't boil because it will curdle and won't have a very nice taste or texture
Remove from the heat, and when it cools down, pour it into a plastic container with a lid and put it in the freezer
Every half hour, take out the container and mix the mixture gently with a wire or a mixer so that it is airy and without ice crystals
Repeat the proceed
Notes
Make sure it doesn't boil because it will curdle and won't have a very nice taste or texture
