How to Make Carrot Juice

When buying carrots, you should keep several things in mind: choose bright orange and firm carrots, so that they are not withered or cracked. If the leafy part is attached, it should be light green and fresh. We suggest that you buy organic carrots, which you can easily find in nearby markets.

Some carrot juices, especially freshly prepared ones, may not be pasteurized properly to kill harmful bacteria. Pregnant women, the elderly, small children, and people with a damaged immune system should avoid unpasteurized carrot juice.

In addition, drinking very large amounts of juice can lead to carotenemia, a condition that turns your skin yellow-orange as a result of high levels of beta-carotene in the blood. Although not harmful, it can be alarming. Temporarily removing sources of beta-carotene from your diet usually resolves the problem.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of carrots
  • 2 to 3 apples
  • 2.5 l of water
  • 7 g of lemon juice
  • 70 to 80 g of sugar (or without sugar)

Instructions

Peel the carrot and put it in a bowl. Do the same with the apples

Place the carrot in a pot and cover it with water. Cook until soft

Add apple pieces and cook everything together

Chop the carrot and apple with a stick mixer. If you don't have a hand mixer, you can also use a blender

Put water and sugar in a saucepan and add the mixed carrots and apples

Let it cook for about 5 minutes, then add the lemon juice and cook for a few minutes

Strain through a fine strainer and pour the finished hot juice into glass bottles.

Store in a dry and dark place until it cools down
