Ingredients

  • 5 kg of pears
  • 3 liters of water
  • 500 g of white sugar (depending on the sweetness of the fruit and your taste)
  • Juice of two lemons
  • 1 sachet of preservative (optional)

Instructions

Thoroughly wash all pears, cut them in half, and remove seeds and damaged parts of the flesh

Cut into smaller pieces and put in a pot

Pour enough water into the pan to cover the pears (about 2 l)

Cook them over moderate heat until they soften (approximately 30 - 40 minutes)

When they are soft, remove them from the stove and chop them until you get a thick mixture without large pieces of pears. Return to the stove

Add 4 glasses of water (about 1 l), white sugar, and lemon juice to the pears and cook until it boils

When it boils, remove it from the stove, add preservatives as desired, and stir

Pour the thick juice into sterilized glass bottles and let them cool at room temperature before storing them in the cellar or pantry
